Which City of Boston employee is your unsung hero?

Help us honor exceptional City of Boston employees for their dedicated service to Boston. The Research Bureau is now seeking nominations for the 34th annual Henry L. Shattuck Public Service Awards.

The Shattuck Awards are given to selected city employees for their extraordinary service to the City and the public. These are the unsung heroes that make the City work. These Awards signify that public service is an honorable profession that should be celebrated.

Over the past 33 years, Shattuck Award recipients have held positions ranging from janitors, administrative assistants, analysts, supervisors managers, teachers, police officers and firefighters.

Please complete the nomination form found here and your supporting statement(s) explaining why your nominee is deserving of receiving a Shattuck Award in 2019. Other supporting statements are encouraged. The Shattuck Selection Committee relies heavily on these statements in making its selections.

Henry L. Shattuck Public Service Awards

Celebrating 33 years of honoring individuals for their dedicated service to the City of Boston and the Boston community.  Each year the Shattuck Awards Committee receives many worthy nominations from department heads, peers and business leaders – highlighting candidates that go above and beyond their job descriptions.  The Committee evaluates each nomination and selects a few – the everyday heros of public service to thank them for a job well done.

Each recipient exemplifies the integrity, initiative, leadership and commitment to the public good that Henry L. Shattuck personified as Chairman of the Research Bureau for 17 years.
